    Hudden and Dudden and Daniel O'Leary were neighbours who lived in Ballinamadough a long time ago.

    Daniel started to sing. Old man Burke looked in over the ditch when he heard the singing and said "God save you what are you singing about." Daniel said "I am going to Heaven". The old man said "I will change places with you if you are willing". So they changed places. Old man Burke went into the bag and Daniel tied him. Hudden and Dudden came along and took the bag thinking Daniel was inside in it and threw it into poulavone and went home.
    When they came home Daniel was at home before them with seven fine head of cattle on the farm. They were thunderstruck when they saw the cattle and asked Daniel where he got them. Daniel told them that he got them at the bottom of poulavone and if he had any help with him he could get finer ones and that he would show them where plenty of them were.
    Hudden and Dudden being very anxious to get rich said that if he would show them they would go into the water for the cattle. So Daniel took them to poulavone and pointed out the deepest part of the pool and told them that the cattle were roaming around there and that they had no owners. Hudden dived into the water and after a minute came to the top of the water and throwing up his hands said "blub" "blub" "blub". Daniel said, "He is shouting for your help" so Dudden jumped in and both of them were drowned and that was
