- Long ago the people of this district used not put any shoe or boot on them until they reached the age of fourteen.
There were a couple of people in the district who never put a shoe on them until they were about forty years of age. The names of these were: William Riordan and Thomas Luyons and they both lived in Coolmohan, Araglen, Kilworth, Co. Cork.
The Araglen children go barefoot during the Summer but boots are always worn by them during the rest of the year. Many old stories are told about what is done with the water and that washes the feet. One story is this: If you leave(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
