    to do, and in the Winter, an hour. People know the butter is made when they hear the heavy noise of the butter rolling inside in the churn.
    Whilst churning, water is poured in to cool the cream and to make the butter hard.
    When the butter is made it is taken out and is put into a tub to be washed and salted.
    Then the buttermilk is taken out of the churn and is given to pigs. People also drink it and it is said it is great to cure jaundice and it is very good and wholesome for the stomach;
    Churning is tiresome work but generally two people churn it and then it is not too heavy on either.
