- Once upon a time there was a man living in Coolagurtwee at my uncles house. His name was William O'Connor and he dreamt three times that there was gold hidden in a ray three fields from the back of the house. There was a liss in the same field.
He told my uncle's father and the next night they were to go and dig it. The day after, when O'Connor knew that he was to be getting the gold, he went to a Public House by the name of Walshs and got drunk.
When he went home my uncle's father said that they would not go and dig it until the sun was gone down. On account of being drunk O'Connor would not be satisfied to wait and so they went and dug it. They got two crocks but when they opened them they got two heaps of small leaves inside in each of them and if they had waited until the sun was gone they would have got the gold.- Bailitheoir
