    for five days and got away with gold and silver, for at that time many ships plied between that town and foreign countries. They removed the gold to Strancally. The castle was blown up with gun-powder and all the treasures are buried beneath the ruins.
    From time to time people came to dig for the gold. One moonlight night seven boats full of men with picks and spades came up the river. As they were about to land they were pelted with stones from the rocks above them.
    Another time a man with a gun kept watch while two men dug for the gold when a white cat sprang around them. The man pointed the gun to shoot the cat and found he could not pull the hammer.
