- FoodIn olden times the special food for Hallow Eve was colcannon. First of all the potatoes were washed and peeled and put in a large pot to boil. When they were boiled they were strained and mashed and put on plates on the table. When it was ready the men were called to their supper and they ate the colcannon with large spoons.
