- Hallow Eve is one of the oldest festivals in Irish folklore. On this day many old customs are observed, especially by the people in the Gaeltachts throughout the country.
Although Swords is not a Gaeltacht, a good number of old Irish customs are observed here especially by the old people who love this festival.
Most important of all the meals of this day is the dinner. The woman of the house makes colcannon and it would not be Hallow Eve to them, unless it was eaten by candelight.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
