- There are the ruins of an old castle called Kilbarron, and it is situated in the town land of Corker. This castle is built on a bank over looking the sea. People the name of O Cleary's lived in it long ago. It must have been a very big place before it started to fall. No people lived in the castle since the O'Cleary's left it, and that is about a few hundred years ago. There is not much of it left now, only a few parts of the walls . There are many stories told to us from the old traditions about the gold which is buried under the castle. One night a man from the surrounding districts had a dream and thought he was digging for the gold. The next day the man went down to the castle and began to dig. When he had all the stones dug up and was about to lift the last flag, a blast of wind came and blew off his hat. He ran after the hat, and when he came back a portion of the wall had fallen into the place where he had taken the stones out of. So he went home and did not bother about it.
