   on the circumference of the ring it is said to be “taw-the-line” and the player has to go back to “Pink” but he has permission to get another “shot.” Whoever knocks out the last marble out of the ring has permission to get a “shot” at each of his opponents marbles if he calls “Pinks at you” when he knocks out the marble. If his opponents however shout “no pinks” before he calls he cannot get “shots” at his opponents “glassies” or “crockeries.” If he is successful in shouting before his opponents the latter have to place their marbles in the ring and if the player hits one of the “glassies” the owner has to pay him a marble. Sometimes during the game a player’s marble may roll down a slight incline. If its owner shouts “Heights” he has permission to bring it to the top of the height. If his opponents, however, call “No heights” before he calls he must leave the marble when it is and await his turn. Often too it happens that there is some obstruction in front of a player’s marble and he shouts “Clearances” before his opponents call “No clearances” he has permission to clear away the obstruction. Sometimes they glassy slips out of a player’s hand when he is about to shoot. He is entitled to another shot if he shouts “slips.” If his
