- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)built with a chimney and one little window in it. Every day a big torch of a fire was kept on for about seventeen hours and a very big pot of salt water was kept boiling steadily the whole long day. It was kept boiling steadily, till the pot boiled dry.
Then when the water was gone the salt was lying in the bottom of the pot.
About three months after my mother was married she went up to the mountain to visit her uncle Hugh Gallagher. She got a great surprise when at her dinner her Aunt Mary gave her some of the home made salt. And Mary told her that it was her father in law John Connolly who made the salt and that he sent a box full of it up to the mountain to her father.- Bailitheoir
