- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)very poor he had a lot of children and had no food or nothing to give them. One evening he said I must go and buy a cow in the fair tomorrow. The next morning he made ready for to go to the fair. When he was going round by the gable of the house there was a white cow standing there are the gable. He went into the house and told his wife. Then he tied the cow in the byre and milked her. He kept her until she reared seven calves.
One evening he said I must sell that cow and calves. His wife begged him for to not sell the cow and calves but he he [sic] would not heed her. The next morning he made ready. He loosed the cow and calves out of the byre. There was a lough beside the house the cow and calves gave a leap and leaped into the(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
