  2. In the parish of Donegal on the Drumroosk road a man built a wall which was tossed every night. Men stayed up one night, and about 2 in the morning, a thing came in with the appearance of a rat and it tossed the wall. Next night it came again and tossed it. Next day they build the wall and the strange rat came again. This time it had a red hat on it, and it tossed the wall. It walked up to the fort and went into a hole. The people never built the wall again because they were afraid and thought the fairies did not want them to build the wall there.
