- We have three cows, two blacks and the other one grey. We have eight calves.The cows are in a house for themselves and we have no name on it other than the cow-house. It is a stone building with a thatched roof. It is plastered to the inside but not to the outside. The floor is partly flagged and paved.
The cows are tied with chains that are fastened by means of a large staple to a plank which runs parallel with the wall, about eighteen inches out from it, and resting on the floor.After a cow calves, and before the first milking, a live coal is taken to the stable, and(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
