- A home-made toy is made from a certain reed which grows along the ditches and is called a whistle. It is made by cutting a little piece out of the top near the end and inserting a little piece of another reed in the end and then the whistle is finished.
Another toy is made from the same kind of reed, is called a pea-shooter, and is made in this way:- a piece of reed is cut a certain length and then it is ready.- Collector
