- Long long ago people were dancing at Duntally between Doe and Rosgoill. A young man well-dressed appeared in the midst. The people did not know him. He did not speak.
He took out two girls to dance and the people present were amazed to see him taking out two girls, as it was never before seen done in the parish.
The fiddler could not play the tune so the young man whistled it himself. After that the fiddler could play it very easily. When a young man went away, that dance was ever afterwards called the Fairy Reel, and from that day to this day, it is danced in this parish.- Collector
