- Nowadays people generally go to the church in motor cars. About 70 or so years ago they walked in couples linked in one another.
The Bride and chief groomsman went first, then the groom and chief bridesmaid. Big weddings were then the custom, about 20 or 30 couples.
When they were setting out in the morning shots were fired and when they were coming home at night shots were also fired.
They came home to the home of the bride where a great feast of chickens (boiled) and meat (boiled) was set before them.
As dawn was breaking the party scattered to their own homes. The bride and groom set out for their future home, accompanied by some of their friends.
