Come all you gentle ramblers no matter where you roam
I pray you take a warning when you'r returning home.
And don't be like your comrade boys that lately went astray
For if you do you'll surely rue like the boys in the Lannleigh.

'Twas in the month of December a cold and frosty night
When Fanad hills were clad with snow and the moon had shone no light
When I and five of my comrade boys together did agree,
To go to see some ladies fair up in the Lannleigh.

There was Barney Carr from Killivrick convenient to the old mill,
And Umphry Friel down from Ronbuighe a boy of noble skill,
Peter Carr from fair Tunbane with Dorrian and Meenan tall
