- Long, long ago when the Sappers and Miners were in Drumfries, two of them lived on the top of Slieve Sneacht. One day a man named Paddy Kavanagh was delving a bit of a field in Carroghill. Carroghill is situated on the north about a quarter of a mile from the school.
Paddy heard talk, he looked up the field and saw a Sapper and a Miner coming. They had a pick and a shovel with them. They asked Paddy to let them dig. Paddy wouldn't let them dig. When they were leaving the field they told Paddy that there was a copper mine a quarter of a mile under the ground. And ever since the copper remains in the field.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Faisnéiseoir
