- The care of our Farm Animals. There are horses, cows, sheep, pigs, hens, turkeys, ducks and chickens on our farm. The cows have got names, Daisy Bell, Daisy Bell, Doherty, Grey, and Nuala. The cow house contains ten "stands". It is called a byre. The cows are often tied by the neck and sometimes by the horns. The tyings consist of chains and sometimes ropes. They are mostly all home-made. The stable consists of two "stands" and the fodder is kept on a "loft" above the horses. The horses are taken to the forge to be shod and the farmer clips the horses himself. My two horses are called "Ginie" and "Nelly".
Whenever a cow is wanted to come in the person calls "Te" and a horse is called by its own name, when the calves are being called, they are called "Prugie". The dog is called by(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
