- When people first came to Burren about 150 years ago they found it was only a wild marshy bog. First they cut away the turf. At the bottom of the bogs they found hugh trunks and roots of trees which they used to show light in the houses instead of lamps during the long winter nights. After that they drained the land and made ditches. Last of all they tilled it. In that way they made of it the fine land which we see to-day
- Commauns Bridge was made about seven or eight years ago. My father and Patrick Jennings made it.
There was a wooden bridge before the cement bridge.
It was swept away by a flood.- Bailitheoir
