- People in Raheny long ago believed that there was a banshee who wandered about at night on particular roads.
Most of the people who had to travel on these roads were nervous of the banshee. One man who did not hold superstitious ideas determined to catch the banshee. One night he chased the banshee who turned out to be an owl with a white shawl on it and its eyes resembled flame.
