- This was told by my uncle who is about 80 years of age. Some people still observe the old custom of lighting a sheafe of straw or torches nowadays to congratulate the newly married couple. A "spree" is also held the night of the marriage. What is generally called the "months visit" is held one month after in the brides home all the neighbours gather in and a big dance is held. It is also an old custom of the bride not going home until one month after the marriage.
