- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)a dove appeared there, and then a well sprang up. After that a tree grew a little distance from the well. It is to be seen there still and it is called 'Saint Cuan's Tree'. When people go to the well to do the stations they tie a piece of cloth to the tree or sometimes they leave a pin, a hairpin, a brooch or even a boot-lace, as it is a very old custom of the people. When the people go to Saint Cuan's Well they bring home some of the water to keep in the house, and they also drink it.Mary Hurley age thirteen
