Ar an leathanach seo
- In olden times the people ate only three meals, breakfast, dinner and supper. For breakfast they had potatoes with a little salt and milk on a plate into which they dipped the potatoes. The potatoes were peeled with their nails.
The men went out to work about seven and came in to breakfast between eight and nine. Tea was unknown and bread was scarce through wheat was plentiful.
For dinner they ate potatoes with sour milk as kitchen. This was eaten about 12:30.
At night they had potatoes with an onion and salt when onions were plentiful; and at other times salt and milk on a plate.
Herrings were a rarity for the Sunday dinner.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
