  1. The Lore of Certain Days.
Long ago there were certain days of the year spoken about. They had different days for getting married. Wednesday was one day they had particularly settled for getting married. They had a rhyme about the different days. Monday for wealth, Tuesday for health, Wednesday the best day of all, Friday for crosses, Thursday for losses and Saturday no luck at all.
People long ago began work such a ploughing on Friday and house building.
The day of the crosses was Friday. If a person got married on Friday he met with crosses or accidents, all the days of his life.
They three first days of April are called March days, because it was said that March borrowed three days from April, one to drown the cow, one to dry and skin her and the other to bury her.
People never liked to sow seed except on Friday, but at present they do not make any difference. Friday was supposed to be the lucky day for changing from an old house to a new one.
