- There are a lot of weeds growing on the farm, such as thistles, chicken weed, praiseac, couch grass, dog leaves, meacan buide, and garlic. The garlic and gadden are very useful herbs.
The garlic is used for black leg in cattle.
First the garlic is cut up and mixed with gun powder, and lard and then people cut a pocket in the cattle and put a garlic in it.
Gadden is a cure for mumps. First it is heated at the fire, and then it is put on the neck. The thistles and praiseac, and dog leaves only grow in good land.- Collector
