journey was always to be made on foot. You had to go round you beads once at the well and leave a piece of cloth or a handkerchief behind you at the well when leaving. When lifting the water you had to take three sips in the name of the Father, Son & Holy Ghost. The person who lifted the water had to give it to the sick person or beast.
