Then it was taken home, and spun into thread, coarse thread and fine thread.
Next it was taken to the weavers who wove it into linen, coarse linen and fine linen.
This linen was made into shirts, sheets and many different things. - About ninety years ago the people in this district had no soap.
Old stalks and "bohalawns" were gathered and burned. The ashes left was mixed with a little water and made into a thick paste.
