    Robins are very common in this district.
    The robin remains in this district all the year.
    She is a small bird but she is a littl bigger than the wren.
    The robin builds her nest in a close bush and sometimes in a waste byre. She lays six or seven tiny eggs in it.
    She is a good songster and she sings all the year only while she is moulting her feather in July.
    When the robin sings on the top of a tree in the morning, it is a sign that the day will be fine. When she comes near the door in winter it is a sign of snow.
    There is a story connected with the Red Breast of the Robin.
    One story is, when our Saviour was hanging on the Cross, a robin came
