- (continued from previous page)Flynn. He was the owner of the forge and he was also the blacksmith. The ruins of this forge are still to be seen. The block of wood on which the anvil was placed is there yet and also the stone trough in which the water used to be. This land is now owned by his grandson Mr John Flynn.
There is a small river bordering this townland. This river separates Derrinawillan from the townland of Greaghnafarna on the west and from Cultha on the south.
A man one time dreamt that there was a railway to be made on the Derrinawillan side of this river and also he saw a train lit up with lights going in the direction that the railway was to go. This man was Mr Andie Durkin. He died about twenty-five years ago but no railway was made yet.
There is also a fort in this townland It is on the land of Mrs Patrick Durkin. No one would cut a tree in this fort because it is said that something would happen to themselves or their cattle. Once a man named Andie Durkin was cutting a tree in the fort and he cut off his thumb.
About ten years ago when a man named Pat Durkin was about to die the neighbours(continues on next page)
