After being pointed each thorn is thrown over the right shoulder but the tenth is left aside carefully. As the thorn withers the sty disappears and the cure is usually complete after the ninth day. - Jaundice.
The cure known most about in Drumshanbo is the cure of the "jaundice" which ismade by Harriet Flynn who lives in the town of Drumshanbo and is aged forty two years. This cure is made from a herb that grows, and certain prayers have to be said while it is being made. The days on which it can be got are Tuesday and Thursday.
The person who is ill with the "jaundice"is supposed to be fasting from midnight before she can take the cure. Then when she has taken it she must eat an oat cake which is made from oat meal and water. This cure must be taken three times before the person is cured.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
