  1. On Saint Martin's night a goose was killed, and the blood dried in a cloth, ans preserved for a cure for a pain in the side.
    The hair of the cow's udder was burned with a blessed candle and was quenched with the sign of the Cross. This was done before the cow was milked after the calf was born.
    If elder was burned the person who burned it got a pain in the head, as it is said that the
