In the morning they would get their breakfast and then make their way for another poorhouse. At that time people used to meet them in threes walking along the road. All the children used to be afraid of them.
    Then there were other men who used to go round with baskets. These were called pedlars. They used to sell pin, needles and bootlacers. Those men were
