In that year Patrick, Lord Kerry being in rebellion, his castles of Ardfest, Lixnaw, Listowel, and Beale were in possession of the enemy, (English) he sickened and died on the 12th Aug. 1600. This death took place in all probability in the fastnesses of Desmond, which accounts for his being buried in the Grey Friars. His son Thomas, the next Lord, died at Drogheda and was buried in Cashel 1630. It seems strange that having transplanted his body so far, it was not removed to Kerry.
