  1. 7. About a mile from Croghan the was a small island on this lake called Moylarg, on which Mass was said in ancient times. One day that Mrs Lloyd a Protestant happnd to be picnicing on the island, taking a fancy to a holy water font which had always been in the middle of the island she took it away to her mansion. That night a ball of fire was seen leaving her mansion and resting on the island on the spot from which the font had been taken. Numerous lights were seen round the island for a long time afterwards. My father Denis Mc Namara Station Road Carrick-on-Shannon saw those lights.
