“Once there was a woman who had four children...”
Once there was a woman who had four children: her husband had gone to America to earn money. On the farm there was a fort, and in it she planted her crop, because it was a sheltery place.
When they were big enough she dug them for the dinner. One day when she went out as usual, she found all the potatoes dug and the track of little feet all over the ridges. She said "much good do them, with them. They might want them more than me".
