- The local roads are the old road and the new road. The old road is so called because it is the oldest road in this district. It is leading to Cloone. About two hundred years ago the old road was the main road. There were lanes coming out to the old road. There one coming out through Patrick Conboy's land. It started at Drumnamore and came out through Mahana and Drumroosk. It is closed down now. They are many hills on the old road. The old road was called the "Valley of the Black Pig". There is going to be a battle fought between the Catholic's and Protestant's in future days, and the prodestants will be beaten. The French travelled this road in seventeen hundred and nighty eight on their way to Ballinamuck. They used to work every day four four pence. The new road also leads to Cloone.
