Long ago there were not many graveyards Cloonee Fenagh and Bornagleara were the oldest graveyards in Leitrim.
People had to carry the corpse a long journey. People from the upper end of the parish of Gortletteragh and from the border of the County Longford had to come to Cloone to bury the dead.
When they came to Cloone they left the corpse that night in the half way house and they started off next morning for Cloone. This house was in John Joe Reynolds land.- Bailitheoir
