- There are three forges in this parish.
The blacksmiths names are, John Kellegher, John Rourke and Pat Gorman. These men inherited the trade from their fathers who were blacksmiths. Their forges are situated along the side of a road.
The roof of the forge is thatched, with no scraw or sods inside.The door is a large one with a horse shoe nailed on the outside as a sign. There is one fireplace and bellows in it. The anvil is sitting on a block of wood in the centre of the floor. The implements in it are, sledge, hammer, pincers, poker, a punch for making holes in the shoes, a tongs, and a knife. There is also a drill and vice.
