And now here is an unpublished folk song about a wake that took place about 100 years ago in the townland of Aughnaglace, parish of Aughavas in the house now occupied by Michael Blessing.Anthony Gallaher was by all accounts a head tinker, and he died while residing in Aughnaglace. Word was immediately sent all over, and the tinker fraternity came to the funeral from all arts and parts. Gallaher was a piper also and requested that there should be pipe music and fun at his wake. My grandfather Micky Cassidy was at Antony Gallaher's Wake. So many tinkers were never seen before as assembled on the day of the funeral. - Anthony Gallaher's Wake
