“A man got up in the morning early to go to the bog for a few loads of turf.”
(continued from previous page)the donkey would not cross the bridge for him, so he had to get down off the donkey and walk home. When he came to the house he threw off the loads of turf, put on the empty "creels" again and went for two loads more.
When he crossed the bridge again the black donkey was standing along the side of the road waiting for him. So he mounted him again and rode him to the bog the second time. He filled his loads again, mounted the black donkey and rode him till he came to the bridge, and he would not cross the bridge again. He had to walk home the rest of the way to his house. He had to throw off the loads again.
He started the third time to the bog. He crossed the bridge and the donkey was standing there waiting for him. So he mounted the donkey again and rode him to the bog. He filled the loads, mounted him again and rode him back until(continues on next page)- Collector
