- Long ago a man named Moran lived in Killaglaisheen. This day he was eating his dinner of roast potatoes and buttermilk. There came a small man in and sat down. Moran thought he was a beggar and asked him would he eat potatoes and the man said he would.
So he sat down and ate all he could. Then he got up and asked Moran if he could count.
Then he took out a small wallet and when Moran saw the money he said
'' No, no, no I cannot count. The little man put his purse in his pocket and walked out. The little man was a lépreacán and Moran did not know it.
Had Moran been able to count he would be a rich man all the days of his life. So the little man said as he walked out.- Bailitheoir
