The most harmful are nettles, thistles and dock-leaf because they spread very quickly.
Those that grow in good land are praiseac weed, smut and chick weed.
Those that grow in poor land are nettles, thistles, and dock-leaf.
Water-cress and water-lily grow in dykes and other wet places.
Nettles and thistles are often given to hens or pigs to eat and also the leaves of the dandelion.
They are cut up first.
Water-cress is often used as food like lettuce.
The dandelion is sometimes used as medicine.
The smut is a weed that grows among the oats and spoils the crop, and reduces the(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
