Ar an leathanach seo
- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)are given to pigs. Diseased ones must be picked by hand. Potatoes keep better on the ground than on floors. The potatoes are never left out for fear of frost. The pit is covered with straw about 4 feet wide for the escape of warmth and moisture.
Potatoes produce shoots in warm weather. Then they should be turned over by women, for they are the best suited for this work, and are generally employed for it. This is called snubbling.
Seed potatoes should be of small size. The first shoot is the strongest and the shoots after are weaker. The seed potatoes take most care. The land requires no more cultivation and is often(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
