    This landlord was not as bad as Ponsonby, and agreed in giving the land to the catholics to build the church on. These landlords collected tithes. It was usually corn they collected which they sold and sent the money to Trinity College for the upkeep of the parsons. The residence of Ponsonby contained fifty two rooms.
    It was this landlord who planted all Crotta wood. If he caught anyone cutting a tree there he would whip them out of it. Once there was a man named Murty Healy cutting hazel sticks there. The landlord caught him and kept him until his men came home.
