- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)With yours was not in it. But now I must cease.
Well the next night it came + quite dark was the same
But Tim Sheahan himself was the Cock of the Game
At twelve of the clock his heart gave a knock
He took some poteen and marched straight to the rock
And he entered the cave where the grey ferns wave
And he bore himself cautious + steady + brave
Till he came to the room, now the bright jewelled tomb
Of the knight + his lady struck down in their bloom
A pair of white cats lay awake on two mats
And looking delighted as if they saw rats
Then moving the length of their bright chains of gold
Disclosed to Tim Sheahan the treasures untold
That lay in the vault. You must pardon his fault
If he stopped to demolish a cruiscin of malt
Then he proceeded to pack the coin on his back
And forth to the hall of the cats he came back
Where bright jewels gleamed like the stars in the sky
And he snatched at a pure diamond bit hanging high
Then the cats sprang upon him and they tore out his eyes
And the thunder rang out + the yell + the shout
Was enough for to frighten poor Tim out + out
And a bog-ranger passing next morning he found
His half-lifeless body lying cold on the ground.
