- I Enniscrone is but a few miles from Kilalla where the French landed in the year 1798. They anchored in Kilalla Bay, which washes the shore of Enniscrone.
II About the year 1898, while the fishermen were trailing around where they anchored, what should My Father find but a French Anchor. He has it during the past forty year's. It is not very big. He has also a griddle belonging to his mother and on which they made oatmeal cakes.
III The French anchor is about a yard in length. And about four or five inches in breadth. It is made of very heavy iron and covered with stockoak.- Bailitheoir
