- A snare is made by getting snare wire and cutting it about a half a yard in length. If it is for a rabbit a person is setting a snare for there is four row of snare wire put in the snare. If it is for a hare a person is setting the snare there is six row of snare wire put in the snare. The snare is made by putting a nail in the middle of the rows and twisting it. The nail is plled out and the bottom of the snare is put into the hole. The snare is made a little bigger than the rabbit's or the hare's head. There is a peg put on the end of the snare with a strong string and the peg is put in the ground and two small sticks are put under the round part of the snare to hold it up. If the rabit is in the snare a good while it gets choked.
