- There is a fort sittuated in Killeenifinane, Castlemaine Co. Kerry. It is a round shape and it is a big hedge around it.
The forts are very plentiful and common in Ireland. There are underground passages going from one fort to the other. It is said that the Danes made them and some people say that it was the Irish made them, to put all the helpless people into them when they were going fighting against any enemies.
The people say that if you stand on one you can see another one away in the district. It is not right to dig out a fort.
One day a man went looking for work to a cousin of his. On his way he saw a man who was digging out a fort and he was made helpless and was not able to move, and was not very far from his own home. So the poor man took him home and went on his journey again. When(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
