- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)a brave and hardy race, and it seems were fitted, for the purpose of (cob) colonization or plunder. They ravaged the country before, then and secured a great deal of capture and plunder. The Tuatha de Danans were the ruler in this country at that time, and were not so robust or powerful as a fighting force, as the picts, yet they were their superiors, in craft and cunning.
They engaged the invaders in or about this hill, and the battle lasted all day. It must have extended farther back, for a very few years ago, arrows were found at the west of the road, leading across the mountain to camp and are at present in the museum in Dublin. These arrow were found more plentiful around a height and on the far side of it which shows that the invaders were either entered or at any rate took over the far side of the height, while farther down on the level the stone hatchets were found, very probably the engagement here was hand to hand.
